The webinar focused on the following topics:

Webinar highlights
The waterways restrictions increasingly influence the behaviour of a ship’s arrival or departure from a harbour.

It has become apparent that in the last decade, the main dimensions of various ship types are continuously increasing (container carriers, RORO vessels, LNG carries). On the other hand, the dimensions of the access channels, rivers, canals and ports, frequented by these vessels, do not increase at the same rate.

It is essential to ensure that the officers of the watch can combine the use of equipment onboard while maintaining the desired skillset for safe vessel navigation in confined waters.

At the same time, the deck officers need to be in compliance with new regulations and keep up with the advanced technologies onboard. Our latest “Safe Navigation in confined waters” aims to improve navigator’s knowledge of the basics in passage planning, preparation planning and pilotage through confined waters.
