Listening Skills and Understanding Others
This course looks into the skill less used: listening and understanding others. Most of us believe that we listen but in effect what we do is that we hear. Listening involves more than hearing. It involves understanding why the other person said what he said and the feeling behind the words. Listening is a skill that, if done consistently and in the right way, improves relationships and trust. Misunderstandings happen because we assume instead of truly listening; Lack of development also happens as a result of not asking questions in order to help the other person gain clarity.
Impulse Control and Anger Management
This course looks into giving you the skills and the techniques to managing your impulses and anger so that they work for you and not against you. One characteristic of healthy, happy and successful people is that they know when they are about to lose control of their impulses and how to manage the energy of anger so that it does not cause damage. There is a difference between suppressing anger and managing anger. Most people suppress which is harmful both in terms of what it does to your body and your relationships.
