Radar Basics: Integrated Bridge - Online Course

Radar Basics: Integrated Bridge

01
Course Description
In order to support the navigator in his duties and fulfil the SOLAS requirement, Radar is usually integrated with other bridge equipment as part of an integrated bridge system, integrated navigation system or as a multi-function display. The radar picture can also be supplemented with overlays such as routes, charts or user-created maps.
It is therefore crucial for navigators to see radar not as a stand-alone equipment. Instead, they need to be aware of how it interacts with other systems and use all available means for a safe navigation.
