Course Objectives
The objectives of this course are to equip non-UK officers with knowledge on the official UK regulations and procedures relevant to the duties onboard.

Suitable For
The course is suitable for non-UK officers working on board vessels registered in the UK who do not hold a UK Certificate of Competency (CoC) and must have a Certificate of Equivalent Competency (CEC). MSN 1867(M) states that all Chief Mates, Chief Engineers and Second Engineers need to know UKLAP to enable safe and efficient vessel operation in compliance with UK regulations.

Learning Outcomes
Module 1: Provides an overview of the UK requirements regarding the certification and documentation for ships carrying UK flag.
Module 2: Provides an overview of the UK requirements regarding the certification and documentation for ships carrying UK flag.
Module 3: Covers the “Merchant Shipping (Musters, Training and Decision Support Systems)” Regulations from 1999, the national law that puts the respective parts of SOLAS into force.
Module 4: Guides through the “Code of Safe Working Practices for Merchant Seafarers“ and related health and safety alerts published by the MCA.
