Hamburg, GER – 04 January 2017
Safebridge, the worldwide leading provider of ECDIS e-learning products is proud to announce the release of the first type-specific familiarization course update according to the new IHO and IEC standards. The course is based on a new generation of the Transas Navi-Sailor 4000 ECDIS, the first ECDIS type-approved according to the new requirements.
The manufacturer approved courses for the latest version of the Navi-Sailor 4000 can be booked online for single officers on demand or be assigned from a fleet training package.
The new IHO and IEC standards will come into force on August 31, 2017 and will affect new installations and previously installed ECDIS. The new standards are intended to overcome shortcomings, ECDIS anomalies and critical safety issues. Transas ECDIS complies with the latest requirements and provides a number of features beyond this, such as clearing bearings, anchor planning and improved user maps tool.
Safebridge’s first ECDIS type-specific familiarisation course according to the new IHO and IEC standards offers well-proven educational high-class applications GuideMe, FreePlay and TestMe. Safebridge will guide its clients through a wide range of features and keep them on track by placing at the user´s disposal both a fully interactive live ECDIS, as well as a specifically tailored exercise book. The personal time-management guarantees a self-defined, flexible learning procedure that can be achieved from anywhere and at any time. Once the Safebridge online account has been activated, all control functions – such as easy training assignment, observation of training progress and training management for officers on board – can be initiated by the Safebridge software.
